Economics Classroom Library for Kindergarten

Teachers today are looking for social studies content to help elementary school students achieve literacy in the forgotten social studies strand of economics. The Economics Classroom Library for Kindergarten introduces complex economics concepts at a level that students understand. These resources provide students with real-world connections that allow them to explore economics topics in relevant, meaningful ways while stimulating their natural curiosity about the world around them. Equip students with the academic vocabulary and content-area knowledge they need to achieve social studies literacy and become 21st century citizens.

This Classroom Library includes five 6-Packs of primary source readers and nonfiction readers that focus on economics topics in the framework of social studies. The high-interest, nonfiction books include informational text features such as glossaries, indexes, and clear images to engage students in reading and learning. Each 6-Pack includes six copies of the title and a corresponding lesson plan. Aligned to the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) and C3 Framework standards, these resources prepare students for college and career. Titles include (titles may vary):
